The Napier farm is the heart of Napier Vineyards. Here the cellar and the production can be found. Around the estate 20 ha of vines grow on the red fertile “Tukulu” soil as well as on one of the oldest soils in the world, the “Vilafontes”. The grape varieties Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Colombard, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grow in north and south-west facing slopes to achieve a perfect ripeness.
At the Ranzadale farm 14 ha are planted with the varieties Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The prevailing soils and the mostly northern to north-eastern exposure shape the character of the grapes. At Ranzadale, also the bottled products are stored in a cold environment.
The main part of the vines are grown at the Bassano farm. On at least 44 ha, Pinotage, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are cultivated. The special soil of weathered Malmesbury slate brings a balanced flavour to the Napier Wines.
